Organized this year for the 46th time, the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey will be held 11-18 April 2010 by the Turkish Cycling Federation under the auspices of President of Turkey. Included on the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI), the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey has been upgraded to 2.HC in 2010 and is now one of the 17 prestigious stage races in the same category
In addition to international media coverage and participation of the world's top-ranking teams and cyclists, the big splashes made in the press last two years when President of Turkey honored the opening and the awards ceromonies with his presence are of great importance for promoting the Tour.
In 2010, the 8-day and 1247 km long Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey will be again broadcast live worldwide in HD format. The entire event will be filmed by one aircraft, two helicopters, as well as 4 moto cameras and 6 stationary cameras. The last 80 km of each stage will be covered live on major TV channels and Pan-Regional TV networks.
Like last year, the tour will begin in Europe with the "Istanbul Prolog" on 11 April at Sultanahmet Square located in historical peninsula and end in Asia minor. Right after the Prolog the entire crew will fly to Izmir (40 min. flight) and spend the night in Kusadasi (after 1 hour drive). The tour will resume on 12 April with the 7 stages ending in the Alanya on 18 April.
